Stuff you might need to know...

RunRideRun.com… Connect… Compete… Improve

Here we have tried to answer your questions about what this site is all about. If you have a question but can’t find the answer then post a message here and tell us what you need to know.

We will try to answer your question as quickly as we can.

Q: So what’s the catch?
A: No catch. You can become a training member of runriderun.com for free. You get to use all the cool training tools we are building for our virtual athlete community. You can create your own training groups. You can create your own events and invite your friends to participate. You can brag about your results to your friends. You can challenge your friends to better your results. You can be your own world champion. You can get advice from our pro athletes and other Team RRR.com members. If you love your sport, then you can do pretty much anything you want to!

Q: Yeah right… There’s always a catch.
A: You are right. Websites like this are not cheap to build and run. We are a small independent company so we make our money from selling you virtual tokens (we call them v-Tokens) which you then use as your currency in the world of runriderun.com. However you don’t have to spend a cent until you decide to enter an event.

Q: OK… I’m curious. So how does it work?
A: It works like this:

- You can join up for free. To do this you just complete the “Training” level membership process. This gives you what we call entry level membership. You can create your own MyWorld profile, record your own training records, create your own training groups, invite your friends to join your groups and create your own events. You don’t however get coverage under our insurance policy until you enter your first event within the site. - If you decide to enter an event, you have become a “Competing” member by paying a small annual joining fee of $38.50 (inc GST) which gets you full membership status. Our fees and v-Token charges can be found here.. - This annual fee gives you insurance coverage under our unique RunRideRun athletes insurance policy for a period of 12 months from when you first become a Competing member. This means you are covered under our insurance policy for 12 months while you are competing in or training for any RunRideRun.com event anywhere in the world that is included in the schedule of cover which forms part of our product disclosure statement (Note: We currently DO NOT provide cover for the USA and Canada. We are working on this with our insurers but for now there is NO COVER for USA and Canada). - You also get 3 v-Tokens as part of your annual membership fee. You should make yourself familiar with our insurance policy by reading our Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) which you can find here. - While you can use our site for free with access to the cool tools and other toys we have created, you aren’t covered by our athletes insurance policy unless you have become a Competing member by payment of your annual membership fee. It’s only a very small financial commitment to give you full access to our site as well as insurance cover under our athletes insurance policy so we strongly recommend full membership if you like what you see here and really want to enjoy our site. - You can then enter as many events as you like on runriderun.com. You enter an event by recording your results against the event you want to enter and then nominating your best result into that events leader board. It will cost you one v-Token (a bit less than a cup of coffee) to record each official event result you want to record.

Q: Hmmm… sounds interesting. What happens if I use up the 3 v-Tokens I get as part of my initial full member annual fee?
A: Easy. You can always buy more v-Tokens for your account. We sell them in books of 10, 20 and 50. Our current fees and charges together with our refund and return policy can be found here..

Q: How many events am I able to enter?
A: Once you are insured, as many as you like! If you can’t find one you like… create your own and challenge your friends!

Q: How do I create an event?
A: To find out how to create an event, take a look at Stuff about creating an event.

Q: Do I have to pay another $38.50 to enter another event?
A: No. The $38.50 is a one off annual fee that provides you with the insurance cover under our policy to enter as many events created within our site as you like within 12 months. However each event is different. Some people might want to charge an event entry fee however this will be clearly specified in the “Stuff about this event…” section for that event.

Q: Why do I have to agree to an Athlete Agreement as part of my registration process?
A: Because runriderun.com is a unique virtual community dedicated to athletes and the needs of athletes, we require all of our athletes to agree to our charter. This includes all of the usual stuff that you agree to when you join an internet community as well as a lot of other specific athletic stuff such as you agreeing to adhere to the WADA Anti-Doping code. Just because you are not a professional athlete does not mean you don’t have to think like one.

Q: Am I able to link my runriderun group to my own web site?
A: Depending on what you want to do, possibly. To get in touch with our propellor heads and have a chat post a message here.

Q: Am I able to link my runriderun group to my Facebook™ profile?
A: We have a Facebook™ integration module coming very soon in 2008. Watch us go then!

Q: I want to use runriderun to raise money for my school, club or charity by running events. Am I able to do this?
A: Yes. We are always happy to support any registered charity, sporting club or school. We do this by sharing a percentage of the v-Token results fee with you. To get in touch with our customer service crew and have a chat post a message here.

Q: Where can I find the legal stuff to read if I really need to?
A: You can read all of our legal notices here. They’re really boring but they do explain what you are signing up to and what happens if there is a problem. If you are not sure about anything regarding your use of this site then you should get your own advice before proceeding with your use of this site.

Q: I have a specific question but can’t find the answer I need here. What should I do?
A: No problem. Post a message here and tell us what you need to know.
